At Lake Colac Holiday Park, we want every guest to feel welcome and comfortable during their stay. We are striving to improve accessibility across the park and encourage guests with specific access requirements to contact our team before booking so we can help you plan your stay.

Our shared amenities building includes a purpose-built accessible bathroom designed to provide greater comfort and independence for guests with mobility requirements.
Features include:
- Accessible toilet with grab rails positioned beside and behind the toilet to provide additional support when transferring, sitting and standing, as well as a backrest for additional support
- Accessible shower with step-free, level-entry, no raised shower base or threshold, a shower seat, horizontal and vertical grab rails, open shower area with curtain to provide generous maneuvering space, and low shower controls for seated use
- Wall-mounted basin with clear space underneath, allowing closer access for a wheelchair user
- Non-slip flooring
- Generous space throughout the bathrrom for easier movement
At this stage, Lake Colac Holiday Park does not have a purpose-built accessible cabin. We recognise this as an important opportunity to further improve accessibility at the park and are committed to exploring the development of accessible accommodation as part of our continued improvement.
In the meantime, guests travelling with a caravan, camper or tent are encouraged to contact our team before booking. We can discuss your individual access requirements and help identify the most suitable available site, considering factors such as location, ease of access and proximity to our accessible and shared facilities.
Our key shared facilities have been designed to make moving around the park easier for guests with mobility requirements. Ramped, step-free entry with handrails are available to the shared amenities and laundry building as well as the camp kitchen, providing easier access for guests using wheelchairs, mobility aids or those who may find stairs difficult.
The shared laundry is accessible by a ramp with hand rails and non-slip flooring, and offers a spacious layout with generous room to maneuver between facilities. Four machines are available at two different heights – two positioned lower and two higher – providing guests with greater choice based on their individual access and mobility needs.
Our website features the UserWay Accessibility Widget, giving visitors greater control over how they view and navigate online content according to their individual needs.
This tool supports our efforts to align the website with internationally recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and 2.2, while providing tailored accessibility profiles and adjustments for people with a range of access needs, including those who are blind or visually impaired, colour blind, dyslexic, motor impaired, neurodivergent, or who experience cognitive and learning difficulties or seizure sensitivities.

Creating an inclusive experience is about more than accessible facilities – it is also about how guests are understood, welcomed and supported. All Lake Colac Holiday Park team members complete Belgravia’s compulsory YouMeUs access and inclusion training when commencing employment.
YouMeUs is an online training program designed to build understanding of inclusive practices and culture, including the diverse needs and abilities of people with disability. The training encourages team members to challenge stereotypes, focus on people’s abilities and understand their role in creating more inclusive environments.
By embedding this training into staff induction, we aim to ensure accessibility and inclusion are part of the service culture at Lake Colac, helping our team provide respectful, informed and welcoming support to guests with diverse access needs.
